Elon, Great chat yesterday, As you heard overwhelmingly from senior advertisers on the call, the issue concerning us all is content moderation and its impact on BRAND SAFETY/SUITABILITY. You say youโ€™re committed to moderation, but you just laid off 75% of the moderation team!

So for all the replies I received that content moderation = denial of freedom of speech (it doesnโ€™t),what do you say about the fact that the โ€œchief twitโ€ just blocked me for exercising mine? Yesterday, @elonmusk solicited ?s from marketers, today heโ€™s blocking those who ask them.

Advertisers are not being manipulated by activist groups, they are being compelled by established principles around the types of companies they can do business with. These principles include an assessment of the platforms commitment to brand safety and suitability.

That includes the trustworthiness of the leadership team and the behavior of the CEO. You claimed yesterday that you are deeply committed to Content Moderation, yet today youโ€™ve eliminated the vast majority of people who did that work for Twitter. How do we reconcile these?

โ€œThe Jewsโ€ is trending on @twitter, and its algorithm has selected Ye as a โ€œTopโ€ person to follow while @elonmusk fires roughly half of the companyโ€™s staff, including many of its policy experts and content moderators.โ€ โฆ@VICENewsโฉ โฆ@VICEโฉ

EM posted this last night and I havenโ€™t stopped thinking about it since. Why attack journalists? Journalists, more than any other profession, are the most likely to traffic in the truth. Most are deeply committed to finding the truth and some have lost their lives pursuing it.

Dear @elonmusk In the 14 days youโ€™ve been โ€œchief twitโ€ youโ€™ve severely damaged @twitter, some think irrevocably. I hope thatโ€™s not true, but, increasingly, I fear it is. Itโ€™s clear that leading Twitter is not among your many talents. I would like to offer five suggestions: ๐Ÿงต

This is a lie. The premise is ludicrous. There are no supporting facts. It demonstrates your utter lack of understanding of how the advertising industry works. It also hints at you contempt of advertisers. Whatโ€™s your plan? The Hall Monitor

โ€œ@karaswisher to @CNN: @elonmusk is โ€œin a permanent state of grievance. Heโ€™s promoting hate. โ€œShould Mr. Musk choose to remain a participant and provocateur on Twitter, itโ€™s likely the platform is headed deeper into the world of toxicity and partisanship. If that happens, Twitter is doomed, from the perspective of advertising revenue.โ€ @robnorman

โ€œThe layoffs gutted entire teams, including the ethical AI team, the communications team and the human rights organization. Other teams that were hit hard: the disability experience team, internet tech team, marketing, social, and the โ€œRedbirdโ€ teamโ€

Update: thanks to support from journalists, advertising industry colleagues and a couple of friends inside of @twitter, @elonmusk just unblocked me. Thank you, to all. I genuinely love this platform and want to see it thrive even though I disagree with recent personnel decisions
