Today we carried out the boiler hydraulic test on 60532 'Blue Peter', which starts the clock on the life of the boiler as well as seeing the completion of its overhaul.
The Boiler inspector saw the boiler taken up to a test pressure of 340psi.
The boiler has passed its test!
Britannia has completed her test runs, and is now officially back in service! The first trip was done at 45mph and others at 60mph. There was no issues with the Locomotive. She ran with the covers off on one side so she could be checked, these are now being refitted. 👌🚂💨
Our Diesel team lifted out 47853’s engine yesterday. The engine and generator are going away for a full overhaul and will become a part of our 'spares pool'.
47853 (unofficially referred to as 'The Moose') will recieve the engine from 47501 'Craftsman'.
Sir Nigel Gresley, our freshly painted steam set and the onboard staff left Crewe this morning. As they head down South, they will be preparing the train for our first steam charter of 2024, running tomorrow from London to York & RTN.
