If you looked at the Leaflet GitHub activity chart exactly one year ago, you'd assume the project's future is pretty grim. But look at that amazing burst of activity since! Miracles do happen in open source. Thank you to everyone who makes this happen. ❀️

I'm a little mapping library that was born 11 years ago in Ukraine. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Yesterday, after enduring 8 years of hybrid warfare that killed 15000+ and displaced millions, Ukrainians listened to a 40-minute hate speech from Russia's insane president on why Ukraine shouldn't exist. 1/4

If you want to help, educate yourself and others on the Russian threat, follow reputable journalists, demand severe Russian sanctions and Ukrainian support from your leaders, protest war, reach out to Ukrainian friends, donate to Ukrainian charities. Just don't be silent. πŸ™ 4/4

Wanted to release Leaflet 1.8.0 in the nearest days after a year of work but will have to delay once again. Woke up from explosions today, will have to deal with the fucking Russian invasion first. We will win, Russia is fucked πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸš€

If, after all the atrocities by the Russian regime in the last years, you still believe in some β€œall sides are at fault”, β€œNATO threat” or β€œcivil war” bullshit, you don't belong in civilized society, let alone open source community, you dumb fucking tool. 3/4

Now, with 150k Russian troops with heavy weaponry in attack position on the border and ready to invade, Ukrainians come to terms with the prospect of the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945, getting ready to defend not only the future of their children, but humanity at large. 2/4

Just learned that the Leaflet website is officially blocked by @roscomnadzor (Russia’s department of censorship). Proud of such recognition! 🀩 If your website isn’t blocked by the Russian government yet, don’t worry β€” there’s always room for improvement, please do better! πŸ˜‰
