I noticed my resistance to small tasks that take one minute but require what it seems to be enormous amount of effort to get started. I don’t know what happened but I somehow unlocked something and started to do them with considerably less effort. And what I think it happened is

That I gave myself permission to do them, I turned on the persona that enjoys getting stuff done and turned off the helpless little girl that inhabits me. Knowing that it is more important to get them done and reflecting on all the times I was too embarrassed to do something

I turned that embarrassment into fuel and rage. I won’t let that happen to me again. I won’t bask in the misery, I’ll move on and keep going because I care. It is so weird to feel all of this in my body, like some type of anxiety that is not sinking in fully.

I know this means I’m unlocking some other stuff that I want to do. Like writing! Not sure why writing in particular, but it is something that I love doing and I haven’t been able to because I’ve been putting these walls for myself. And none of them matter. Only the work matters.

I also think this would have never happened if I was doing solely “inner work”. I had to be outside in the world, working on things that matter to me, attempting to do ambitious projects, reaching far away, focused on something other than just myself.
