    Breaking: The Prime Minister is set to make announcement this afternoon re return of crowds to sport. Tiered approach. BBC Sport understands max 4,000 fans will be allowed to attend outdoor events in lowest-risk areas after national lockdown. No crowds in highest-risk areas.

    Interviewed Andy Murray today - he told me retiring at Wimbledon or the Paris Olympics would "be fitting" and he is unlikely to play at the US Open or Davis Cup later this year.

    Can’t believe what I’ve just watched. Emma Raducanu into the semifinals of the US Open, first qualifier to do that. Hasn’t dropped a set in eight matches, came in as number 150 in the world - now top 50 and the British number one. Wow.

    Relieved that today was only about one youngster bursting onto the scene! Great to sign off with a piece on the @bbcnews at 6 and 10 on @loughnane_billy and @dml_racing before heading off on maternity leave. Wonder how many winners Billy will have ridden by the time I get back

    Coming up on the BBC News at Six, I meet the jockey of the moment, 16-year-old Billy Loughnane. The teenager is currently top of the flat jockey standings, having ridden more than 20 winners in Jan. He's keeping his feet on the ground but dreams of being champion jockey one day

    Exclusive: Betfair to discontinue association with Gordon Elliott "with immediate effect". Spokesman said although Elliott "deeply regrets" + apologised for his "poor judgement" his actions are "completely at odds" with values of Betfair + its employees. More on @BBCSport soon.

    Breaking: Grand National on 4 April is CANCELLED due to coronavirus. Jockey Club say "it is no longer appropriate to stage the event", and behind closed doors was "no longer a viable consideration" in light of latest Government advice. So disappointing for the industry.

    Breaking: Boris Johnson has just said this on return of fans - “From 1 August...we will pilot larger gatherings in venues like sports stadia with a view to a wider reopening in the autumn” “From October we intend to bring back audiences in stadia” (subject to success of pilots)

    Breaking: Triple Olympic swimming champion Sun Yang banned for eight years after being found guilty by CAS of tampering for his part in smashed blood vial incident in 2018. This was his second anti-doping rule violation, first in 2014.
