    Meet LCSO's newest Bloodhound, Rommel. He is a 10 week old liver colored bloodhound now assigned to Master Deputy Meintzschel. Rommel will soon begin his rigorous training to support the community by locating missing persons, fugitives, and evidence. Welcome aboard Rommel!

    Original Tweet accidentally deleted. Although our new bloodhound was named after a childhood pet of the handler, he learned that his name is also tied to a Nazi war criminal. MD Meintzschel immediately rectify the issue I renaming him scout! Welcome Scout to LCSO!

    Great News! Mr. Pierce has been located deep into the woods to the north of his residence. K-9s we’re deployed again today when is hiker located a LA Dodgers hat in the woods. Mr. Pierce is being provided medical attention and being reunited with his brother.

    Today we remember the life and dedication to service that Deputy Wayne Koester had for his family and community. Wayne was taken from this earth on February 9, 2005 by a criminal who is now on death row. LCSO misses you Wayne. #eow #lodd #ultimatesacrifice

    ***Update*** - The owner has been located and is in the process of picking the calf up. It should be noted that veterinarians informed us that the calf was in distress and would likely have died within hours if it wasn't for AEO Pelfrey. At this point the calf has a chance.

    Carlos Aldolfo Moreno-Marquez (34) of Clermont was just arrested by Delta Shift deputies for 3 different package theft cases. An 8 yr old girl witnessed a theft and took a picture of the vehicle and tag and reported it to us. Moreno-Marquez admitted to 3 cases post Miranda.

    Traffic Alert *** Be advise that there was a report of a tornado that touched down in the area of Tuscanooga Road and Honeycut Road in Mascotte . There are powerlines and trees down in the road. Please avoid this area and choose an alternate route.

    Yesterday, a Snapchat alluding to school violence emerged. The suspect was identified. The alleged firearm was a pellet gun in his possession. The pellet gun was seized and he was charged. There are no credible threats to the school, it’s students, staff, or faculty at this time.
