    Terrible news out of St. Landry. Melville Mayor Velma Hendrix died today in a 2-vehicle crash. She was on the ballot for re-election & is the 2nd mayoral candidate to die since last week. (See below.) Both races are cancelled. Qualifying will have to be reopened. #lalege #lagov

    BREAKING: As #lalege tries to wrap up their session, news is coming out of the Middle District that a judge has ruled for the plaintiffs on the redistricting lawsuit there. Judge ruled lawmakers must meet within 2 weeks to draw new maps. Stay request expected in 5th Circ. #lagov
