As I leave Cabinet and finish my time as Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, I’m still just as hopeful as I was as a young farmer, and I truly believe that the future is bright for Canadian agriculture.
Sad to hear of the passing of my friend and former colleague, Kirsty Duncan. I was proud to serve alongside her for nearly 17 years. She was a class act and will be deeply missed by so many. Frances and I are thinking of her family and friends during this difficult time.
His deep roots in the District, his love for this province, and his steady leadership as the newly elected Leader of the PEI Liberal Party make him exactly the kind of representative the people of Georgetown–Pownal deserve.
I am happy to lend my support to Robert.
Today marks the first advance poll for the District 2 by-election.
I’m proud to endorse Robert Mitchell. Robert is a salt-of-the-earth leader who always shows up for the people he serves.
Frances and I were sorry to hear about the passing of the Hon Gail Shea. I had the pleasure of serving in the House of Commons with Gail. We sat on opposite sides of the aisle but we were friends. Gail always had PEI as her top priority. Our thoughts are with her family.
A little strange not to see my own name on the ballot this time, but a much easier choice for Frances to support our friend, Kent MacDonald!
Please get out and vote today — Polls are open until 8:30 pm this evening.
After 11 elections of my own, this time around I’m just a voter, but still very proud to show my support for Kent MacDonald as he works to earn our votes and represent our great riding.
