CW: suicide MPs last night debated the definition of sex in the Equality Act. Kirsty Blackman MP told how a trans constituent mentioned thoughts of suicide to her. The reaction from MPs behind her - Joanna Cherry (centre), Rosie Duffield and Neale Hanvey, - is truly shocking.

Good to see that the Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer just turned down a point of order that tried to establish that the word “cisgender” is of itself offensive, and should be banned from the Parliament. He ruled that Patrick Harvie had not used the word in an insulting way

We’re happy to report that the Church of Scotland General Assembly has just voted by 274 votes to 136 to allow ministers who choose to do so, to solemnise same-sex marriages. The Kirk has debated this over several years, and this is the final vote, which updates church law. (1/3)

There have been claims in the past couple of days that the venues that declined to have Graham Linehan perform on their stages have unlawfully discriminated against his beliefs. That is absurd. Only beliefs that are "worthy of respect in a democratic society" are protected. 1/3
