- Alexander Calder, born today in 1898, so I’m posting this pic of oldest daughter Candace admiring Flamingo. She was about 4, saw the sculpture on a Geoffrey Baer special, and says “I want to see that. And run under it.” So I took her. She turns 30 this year, still likes Calder.
