- The man who wrote the anti-trans bathroom bill just lost the election to a trans woman. Let that sink in.Trans woman Danica Roem (D) just defeated anti-LGBTQ candidate Bob Marshall (R) in Virginia, becoming the first trans state legislator in America.
- Has everyone stopped to meditate on the fact that an 87-year-old woman on chemo has to keep working full-time, full-force, because she's quite literally the only thing stopping the country's full slide into fascism?
- A teacher who was murdered in the Uvalde shooting last week, and her husband who died the next day of a grief heart attack, had their funerals today. Then 3 active shootings happened simultaneously tonight, and we had to decide whether to feature all 3 or focus on the deadliest.
- At the Toulouse airport, just watched a woman try to order oat milk in English for her coffee. Barista kept hearing “hot milk.” Emotions escalated to the point where I had to intervene and explain what oat milk was, and this French man was absolutely pissed to learn it exists
- We’ve been so worried about my 95-y-o grandmother at a retirement home in New Orleans and she called today to say they ran out of Tito’s vodka and could we ship her some.
- I can't get over the fact that Ted Cruz yelled at Montana airport employees "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" and they had to call the cops on him because he was so pissed that he was missing his flight back to DC to ask Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson if babies are racist
- I can’t stop laughing at Republican dudes calling women who are rallying for abortion rights “cat ladies” who can’t get a date. What do they think causes the need for an abortion
- Headlines complaining about Biden’s peloton and Rolex after 4 years of a dude with a literal gold toilet are beyond parody
- I love how Republicans tried to say that anyone who expressed concern about Amy Coney Barrett’s religious zeal infusing her decisions was “anti-Catholic,” and then the freaking pope took our side
- I know it happened a couple minutes ago which feels like a lifetime ago in this debate, but: Biden looking directly at the camera and saying his son had a drug problem like many do and he loves him anyway was a really powerful moment that will resonate and stick with people.
- Just walked past a man who was helplessly staring at his wailing infant in a stroller on this beautiful afternoon in Brooklyn, and then said to the baby: "This feels like an overreaction."
