A reminder of Mitch McConnell's view when Scalia died in 2016: "The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president."

I don’t think I have ever seen a statement like this from an elected official after a terrorist attack:

It doesn’t matter how confident or successful you feel - moments like this instantly take you back to being the kid in elementary school getting picked on because you had a weird name.

I don’t understand why this falsehood is still being put out. I was in Detroit at the counting center, and both parties had more than 200 observers in the room. They were not systemically blocked. Bc of covid restrictions, neither party could get more people in the room.
ASK: Why were Republican poll watchers systematically blocked from observing the vote count? It’s a simple question with no satisfactory answer‼️

Hiya. I’ve asked to interview you so many times and you or your people have always blown me off. If you want to talk, call me. Your people have my cell. I am not reporting by Twitter.

@LATSeema care to report on this? Or like so many others CA press, it doesn’t fit your agenda?

The thing that confuses me about all the people pissed at Twitter - I thought private businesses were supposed to be allowed to make their own decisions even if they offend, like not creating floral displays or baking a cake for a same-sex wedding?

I’ve covered presidential candidates in both parties - more Republicans than Democrats - and it didn’t used to be this way. I’m not asking for sympathy & every American has a right to agree/disagree. But even at its worst, it wasn’t like this. We’re just trying to do our jobs.
Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.

VP-elect Kamala Harris comes out wearing suffragette white, a nod to one of the many ways she made history today.

Jenner says she didn't vote in 2020. But records show she did. @cmarinucci always has the receipts.

It costs money to write and publish articles. I worked on this for several hours this weekend, and I don’t work for free. Do you walk into a grocery store or restaurant and get mad they don’t give you food for free?
Unfortunately, can't read the article, since it costs $$$. L.A. Times sucks.

This may be my last visit to SF for leisure. Homeless dude literally just spit on me near Union Square. Thankfully only hand and jacket.

Newsom talks about his frustrations as a parent, but leaves out that his kids go to private school, which is a hell of a lot different than if your kids go to LAUSD.
