The problem lies with a media company that has normalised and actively stoked disrespect of the prime minister at every opportunity. NZME's bile, especially that of Newstalk ZB, has become commonplace, and we get a shock to realise the world sees it differently.
People should consider how they would’ve felt if a misjudgement they made at work when they were in their 20s was broadcast across the world, before getting abusive over this reporter’s question to the (capable, powerful and thick-skinned) PMs.
In all my years interviewing people I've observed that most want to work, be considered good at what they do, put kai on the table, and reach for the stars. 'Bludgers' are few & have other issues. I don't walk around with a negative, sour view of most of humanity, I guess.
