- It took 29 days for the EU to erode the Northern Ireland Protocol. Let it never be suggested again that the EU is the 'good faith' actor. Let's not pretend it's the party that cares about relations between NI and the Republic. Or that it values contracts, law or institutions.EU temporarily overrides section of Northern Ireland Brexit deal as part of Covid vaccine export controls bbc.in/3agbLwn
- It was called the Benn Act. You voted for it.The French President has more influence over the length of our extension than the British Prime Minister. Brexit is not taking back control, it's giving it away.
- The PM suggests we could soon be in a situation where doctors and nurses would have to decide who to treat. The truth is Government made this decision back in March, when non-Covid patients had their operations and treatments cancelled. And it's happening again.
- David Lammy has suggested that the #BrexitDeal could lead to conditions seen "in the south side of Chicago." This June 52 people were shot in Chicago, 8 fatally, in one weekend alone. This is not a legitimate or helpful comparison. And it is certainly not thoughtful either.
- Just to make sure I'm understanding the complaint here: - Migrant X does 3-year degree - X gets a job in sector with mass vacancies - X works/pays tax for 5 years - X gets Leave to Remain - X waits 12 months, gets citizenship X does 'whatever they want' after a 9-year processDeliveroo visa scandal latest: -Come as a student -Flip to care worker -Get citizenship -Do whatever you want
- Those praising the person who recorded their neighbours fighting, citing safety for the woman, *and then gave the recording to the Guardian*, have not stopped to consider how they would feel if this were done to anyone besides Boris Johnson. Or, indeed, themselves.
- XR aren't just ruining the lawn at Trinity College. They are ruining decades worth of well-meaning environmental activism, which got us all thinking about our footprints and how we can live a bit more green. Vandalism does not sway hearts and minds - it closes them.Only fellows allowed on the grass!’ @xr_cambridge
00:00 - Surreal listening to the Health Secretary question why anyone would need to travel abroad for medical reasons when we have the NHS 'here at home'. What does he make of the 4.5 million waiting list that now exists in England? Urgent cancer operations being cancelled yet again?
- To be very, very clear: the NHS did have space. Lots of capacity, it turned out. This became clear within weeks of the height of lockdown. It was a decision to keep cancer patients away then. And it is a choice now.
- This story should stop everyone in their tracks. This happened on a London bus. Last month. May, 2019. Sickening, horrifying, misogynistic and homophobic violence. Here's hoping they catch these awful men. metro.co.uk/2019/06/07/gay…
- IF ONLY there had been a Tory leadership campaign recently, where anti no-deal/remain MPs could have put themselves forward and been democratically selected to be PM...
- #Brexit has always been about exiting EU institutions. Now it’s about something bigger. It represents the simple & critical question: when I cast my vote will they listen, will the mandate be upheld? Clearly lots of MPs don’t want to answer this. Especially not w/ another votePrime Minister Boris Johnson has failed to achieve the required number of votes for his motion for a general election
