- Replying to @tompawnbadilSo Jesus tells his disciples to "not resist evildoers," to leave alone the weeds sown in the world by the Devil, to carry the gear of a pagan soldier a "second mile," and to give food, water, and blessing to enemies who seek to destroy the church (i.e. "persecutors"). Don't you
- Replying to @tompawnbadilJude's point, if you care about the intentions of the Biblical authors, is that at Jesus' second coming he will destroy the wicked as he did throughout Israel's history. Jude is not saying Christians shouldn't listen to the teachings of Jesus. Your solution to this tension
- The rod given to believers is obviously eschatological. In the book of Revelation, the churches are persecuted by the nations but Jesus is returning "soon."
- The New Testament plainly states that ths Great Commission was already completed.
- Like I said, the Bible states plainly that by the time of the end of Paul's ministry the whole world had heard the gospel. It's just a fact.
- The word "neighbor" never means "fellow human" in the Bible. It always refers to a kinsman, whether Jewish or Christian, and the concept assumes that such people should feel a familial affection for each other.
- "Neighbor" in Biblical context means "your people" and "anyone of your kin."jesus famously said โlove your neighbors as you love your people over other peoplesโ
- I'm not responsible for your mental illnesses.
- You are insane. "Their voice has gone out to all the earth and their words to the ends of the world.โ
- Replying to @smashbaalsWhat if you worship Yahweh's angel of destruction?
- Also 1 Crinthians 4:9 and 1 Timothy 3:16.Paul believed the endeavor of world-evangelization had essentially been completed (Roman 1:8, 10:18, 1 Thess 1:8, Colossians 1:23, etc.).
