- Replying to @justinkcomerThat’s what you look like when you eat exclusively bear meat and anabolic steroids
- Moms for Liberty chapters across Iowa endorsed 13 candidates in the 2023 school board races. Out of the 13, a single candidate won in the I35 school district; a rural district with fewer than 1000 students.
- Replying to @OriginWxK, you can have RFK Jr for your next open heart surgery and I’ll take an overweight heart surgeon.
- Replying to @lyzlCreative teenagers with free time are not folks you want to antagonize, I find.
- Replying to @LiberalHivemindYeah I tend to focus on qualifications rather than appearances when we’re talking about people who are controlling public policy. Weird that you think otherwise.
- The most Christ-like thing anyone can do, the way to be the brightest light in the darkness, is to feed hungry children. If you have the ability to do so and refuse, you are deliberately disobeying one of Christ’s clearest demands. “Let the children be fed first” Mark 7:27On Christmas and always, may we be the light in the darkness. Kevin and I, and our family, wish you and yours a Christmas filled with joy and light!
00:00 - Yes it does. There is a well known link between dollars available for food and childhood obesity. - This is just the exact same argument about appearances over qualifications again
- I trust Iowans to make their own decisions* *except for decisions about their bodies, their medical care, their children’s medical care, what books their kids can have at school, etcI trust Iowans to make their own decisions. No “corrections” needed!
- Iowa City knows how to hold a damn protest. Y’all did not disappoint.Replying to @Ollie_XVXIt is Indeed a party. Pep band still at it
00:00 - Sen Donahue just mentioned that a young trans man in Iowa over the last few days took his life, and that these bills are partially responsible. No Republican acknowledged this. No consolation. Nothing. They moved the bill and proudly voted it through. I feel sick.
- It’s embarrassing to have to say this, but an amendment introduced at 2am on a Saturday that the public has never seen, that the public has no ability to give comment on, passed under the cover of night, does not scream “representative democracy” to me.
- Replying to @Tucsonspringman and @TimodcMe too. It's bad. But we beat 12 out of 13 and that's good. Especially considering the current political climate here.
