    Harriet Tubman made 19 trips along the Underground Railroad to free over 300 enslaved people between 1850-1860. She once had a $40,000 ($1.2 million in 2020) bounty on her head. She carried a pistol on her for protection from slave catchers and slaves who wanted to turn back.

    William D. Chappelle was @DaveChappelle’s great-grandfather. He was enslaved at birth in 1857 in South Carolina and went on to become educated and President of Allen University, a HBCU in SC. He was also the 37th Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. #SNL

    Detroit Police officer Sean Bostwick posted this on his social media. He was suspended from the job Sunday. He needs to be fired. Your top cop is black, you patrol a predominantly black neighborhood, in a city that is almost 85% black. Can’t have this on our force.
