- I don't think Gable Steveson really likes Mason Parris. The disdain is real. That third period was an ass kicking.
- Ohio h.s. in the QF: 141 Tariq Wilson (N.C. St/Steubenville) 141 Allan Hart (Mizzou/St. Edward) 149 Bryce Andonian (Va Tech/St. Edward) 157 David Carr (Iowa St/M Perry) 165 Alex Marinelli (Iowa/Graham) 174 Andrew McNally (Kent St/Un. Lake) 174 Kaleb Romero (Ohio St/Mech'burg)
- 4x Ohio HS state champ, 4x Walsh Ironman champ, 2x NCAA D1 champ (4x finalist), et al ... and now David Taylor is a WORLD champion. A comprehensively dominant tournament for his title.
- Why do officials regardless of sport think they can do stuff like this? It creates un-needed bad perception. If a player did that to a ref, you're talking ejection and supplemental discipline -- and it would be deserved.
00:00 - All-Americans by state: 16- PA*; 10- NJ*; 6- OH*, IL, MI; 5- NY; 4- MO, CA; 3- IN, MN, IA; 2- OR, CO, OK, TX; 1- MT, FL, CAN, AZ, KS, GA
- BRODY CONLEY (Tiffin Columbian) has knocked off the nation's No. 1 wrestler in James Rowley (Crescent Valley, Ore.) by 4-2 decision. Takedown in first and reversal in third at 175.
- Nolan Gessler loses the chance to repeat as state champ due to four stall calls in UNDER 35 seconds. Younger, freshman from Watterson "wins" 4-3.
- Congratulations to all 42 state champions here in Ohio for 2021. It is a moment you will never forget. Thanks to all involved that made it possible to overcome and get us through a complete season. Also kudos to all placers and participants. Glad to have documented this journey.
- 200-2! Marcus Blaze (Perrysburg) 4x SC, 17-2 tech for the second straight week over Eaton (St. Edward). Penn State signee continues to build his high school legend legacy.
- Today is the big day here in the Buckeye State. The dreams of state qualification for 672 wrestlers will be realized, while for others they will be derailed. Such a day of intense emotion all around. One of the best days of the whole season.
- With J.D. Stickley signing/committing to Ohio State, the Class of 2018 for St. Paris Graham features SIX going to D1 schools ... and all of them are legit D1 caliber wrestlers, four of them top 100 recruits.
- Derek Fields (Brunswick) double legging national No. 13 Marco Regalbuto (Brecksville) to death. The final score is 17-7 Fields. That my friends is what we call in the business a statement.
