As the sun rises today, as you make your breakfast, as the kids head to school, as you savour your freedom, please remember what 156,115 young men were doing exactly 75 years ago to protect that liberty. Their sacrifice, dedication & courage will never be forgotten. #DDay75

Police Dog Finn was stabbed & nearly died; his assailant received NO punishment for this crime; the law sees Service Animals as mere "property". Stabbing a dog = breaking a window! Today, PC @davewardell goes to Parliament to get the law changed #FinnsLawFriday. RT if you support

Dear Mr Vice President @JDVance, 34 years ago today I was released from captivity with the fellow American #DesertStorm Prisoners of War I had proudly fought alongside. Many friends, Brit & US, didn't survive. Fellow veterans politely add your own photos & details, & tag the VP?

To the civilians who tackled the armed terrorist suspect; you are incredible, selfless heroes. To the cops who ran towards danger, then neutralised the threat; you are incredible, selfless heroes. To the clowns online second-guessing what happened; you are fools. #LondonBridge

As the lone piper plays the final lament for Her Majesty and departs St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. I think we can all agree that His Majesty's Armed Forces did an astonishingly brilliant job today. Well done all. Huge respect.

Huge respect to cops running towards danger at Westminster today to protect us all. To those who criticise police - perhaps think on this?

Very sad news indeed; "The Few" are all gone as John "Paddy" Hemingway, the last surviving pilot of the Battle of Britain dies aged 105. "He never felt that he was anything special. He thought the special ones were friends who never returned. He is back with his squadron"

1000s of Kurds died fighting ISIS in Syria. British & American troops trained, supported & armed them when we needed them. Now we allow Turkey, our NATO ally, to attack & kill them. This is a disgraceful betrayal. We have abandoned our friends & we should hang our heads in shame.

Legendary performance by Sir @rodstewart at #Glastonbury. Bloody brilliant. No need for publicity stunts, immature chants or nonsensical rabble rousing. Just an 80-yr-old musical star banging out hit after hit. Watch & learn children, watch & learn.

Very sad to hear that @RoyalAirForce Rear Gunner, Harry Irons DFC, died yesterday aged 94. He joined up (illegally) in 1940 aged 16, & flew an astonishing 60 ops on Lancs & Halifaxes. He was a real gent with a roguish attitude to life. Blue skies Harry, RIP Sir.

As you enjoy your dinner tonight, as you look at your family, think back 80 years when 133 young men took to the skies. 53 #Dambusters were killed this night. & 3 PoW. Only 48 of that 133 would survive WW2. The sacrifice of Bomber Command across the war is unrivalled. RIP gents.

Very sad to learn that the "Last Dambuster", Sqn Ldr Johnny Johnson, has died aged 101. His WW2 generation sacrificed so much, yet asked nothing in return. I was privileged to share many a bottle of his much-loved red wine. The nation has lost a true hero. Blue skies Sir.
