As a school administrator for the last 15 years, I have had some really good days and some really bad days. Today is one of the latter. Prayers to the Smith family!

- Hard to say good-bye to the students, staff, parents/guardians and community members at Independence. Thanks to all who made the last 8 years so great..Tomorrow starts a new adventure as the superintendent at Union. Go Knights!
- Great information from Central Rivers AEA on the non-special education services provided to Union. Proud to work with these individuals on a daily basis. @IAGovernor
- The Union CSD and our communities lost a student today to cancer. KC's commitment, enthusiasm, positive outlook and contagious smile will be missed. She will always be a Union Knight!
- Congrats to the Indee boys’ varsity golf team for winning the WaMaC West title today! That is back-to-back championships for this group! Congrats to Caden L— medalist and Ethan C— runner-up medalist. Kellen H— 5th place… #prouddad and #proudprincipal

- Replying to @DickieVMr. Vitale- One of my prize possessions is a basketball you signed while you were in Sioux City Iowa to speak at the Bishops Dinner… probably 10-12 years ago now. Everyone who comes in my office, as a school superintendent, sees it. it is AWESOME, baby!!
- Just got the news that the superintendent who first hired me as a teacher in 1996 passed. Though I had not seen him for many years, I will always be grateful that he gave a 22 year old kid a chance to teach Spanish and coach basketball. RIP-- Russ.
