    Today, state offices are closed to observe Confederate Memorial Day. This is another example of how our state continues to live in the past. Honestly, it’s embarrassing. When I’m governor, we’re going to end Confederate Memorial Day and make Election Day a state holiday instead.

    Every one of these members of Congress who plan to object to the results of the presidential election have one thing in common: They all represent gerrymandered seats that ensures that they cannot lose a general election. End gerrymandering and you end 99% of this nonsense.

    This is a story that Fran Coyle waited 50 years to share. In 1972 - at age 12 - Fran was raped by two men, resulting in a pregnancy. Weeks later, Roe v. Wade was decided, giving Fran the freedom to determine her own future. Today, that freedom is being ripped away from SC women.

    I try not to comment on everything this President tweets. Frankly I have better things to do. But it’s incomprehensible that a US president would say this to American citizens. These remarks were disgusting, shameful, and yes, racist.

    Gerrymandering is the leading cause of hyperpartisanship and tribalism in politics today. Let’s get rid of it once and for all by letting an independent commission draw district lines instead of partisan politicians with such obvious conflicts of interests. #EndGerrymandering
