    Chicago Morgan Park junior Adam Miller (@AceWolf44) advanced in Class 3A three-point showdown prelims tonight. The 6-foot-4 guard, who played for Manual his freshman year, said “I’m 110% with Manual winning it and I hope they do. I’m going to be here cheering for them.” #pjspreps

    Emily Eberhart, all-stater and senior at Yorkville, won Detweiller at Dark high school girls race at 17 minutes, 8 seconds. Eberhart, who suffers from Type 1 diabetes said she loves running in this event because it helps benefit JDRF and its fight to find a cure for the disease.

    Incredible finish! James Early makes putback at the buzzer to give Roanoke-Benson 57-55 victory over Quest in Williamsville Holiday Tournament championship. Congratulations to @AbeZeller and unbeaten team. Rockets now 13-0 in Class 1A. #pjspreps

    It is hard to find a high school basketball coach quite like Kevin Brown. Family, friends and the Washington community lost a genuine person. Brown made his players stronger with his tough coaching approach. I always enjoyed watching Brown coach as a reporter and fan.

    Manual defeats Glen Ellyn Glenbard South 69-52 to win Class 3A DeKalb Supersectional and advance to Friday’s state semifinal at 1 p.m. Manual will face either East St. Louis or Springfield Southeast. Rams (19-11) first trip to Carver Arena since 2015-16 season. #pjspreps

    POSTPONED: mass fight between fans in bleachers put stoppage to Peoria High and Metamora season opening football game at Peoria Stadium. Heavy police presence as people evacuated with Lions leading 34-16 at 8:05 in second quarter. Game will not resume tonight.

    Dunlap defeats Limestone 2-1 on walk-off run in bottom of 7th. Ivan Tejeda won received the Nick Murphy Scholarship Award before the game scores game-winning run. @DHSBaseball2016 improves to 9-0 in Mid-Illini Conference. What a great game on a special night. #pjspreps

    One week without sports and I’m having high school boys basketball withdrawals. I still believe wholeheartedly that Roanoke-Benson (Class 1A) and Peoria Notre Dame (Class 3A) would be state champions. @AbeZeller and @tomlacher have unfinished business next season. #pjspreps
