- Stroking Trump’s ego hasn’t saved any country yet, and it’s not gonna save Canada either. The knee-jerk impulse of some in Canada to turn the guns inward and blame ourselves for US authoritarianism and its resulting carnage is depressing.Trudeau calls out Donald Trump directly, says imposing his tariffs are a "very dumb thing to do." I get the impulse, and I know Canadians want our leaders to stand up to Trump but, man, comments like that will only make Trump want to double down.
