As elders, our hearts are shattered watching the Israeli military murder thousands of Palestinians, destroying families and lives. Everyone should be able to grow old like we have. We chained ourselves to the White House to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza NOW.

This weekend, the Israeli military murdered Hadiya Nassar, 79-year-old survivor of the 1948 Nakba. In protest, in anguish, in rage, in determination, and in her honor, we chained ourselves to the White House to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.

On Dec. 28, thousands of New Yorkers marched silently. Led by Jewish elders, they carried hundreds of effigies of children wrapped for burial, symbolizing the more than 10,000 children killed since October 7.
