    各位推友，你们还记得四年前的今天，一名叫伊力哈木.土赫提的人因努力与政府沟通，呼吁民族平等，并且为各民族的权益发了声而被抓进监狱么？他是我父亲，是一名学者，是一个家庭的支柱，是各个民族温和之声的希望。四年对于狱外的人来说，可能是弹指一瞬间，对于狱内无亲友陪伴的父亲，应是度日如年吧

    Today is my father Ilham Tohti’s 52 year old birthday. I often get asked by journalists about which one is my favorite photo of my father. I usually pick this one. This pic was shot in my old Nokia phone back on Feb 2nd, 2013- my last time seeing him at the Beijing international

    When my father#IlhamTohti was arrested back in 2014, the polices confiscated lots of things from our home, therefore we have lost lots of family photos through out the years. So glad I was able to find this old photo of me and dad. Happy 53rd birthday to you, dad…jenim dada

    While I appreciate the effort of people who have been advocating for the Uyghurs, I think it is important for you to learn how to say the word correctly first. Plus, it doesn’t hurt for your to learn the correct pronunciation, right? So repeat after me and say “ UY-GHUR”.

    Thanks everyone for wishing my father a happy birthday. Really appreciate it. Instead of wishing a ‘Happy Birthday’ to my father, I might just want to wish him a ‘Safe Birthday’ this year, since I haven’t heard a word from him for over 3 years. @Ilham_Tohti 爸爸，祝你生日平安！

    Happy Father’s Day, jenim dada (my dearest papa) @Ilham_Tohti. This is the last photo of us taken together before he was sentenced to life in prison. My heart is with all the other Uyghur daughters and sons who cannot celebrate Father’s Day with their beloved fathers.

    My father Ilham Tohti never wanted to be seen as a political figure, he is an academic, a respectable intellectual who want nothing but to help his people and to build a bridge btw ethnic groups. But the Chinese government brutally silenced him and separated him from our family!

    Feeling extra emotional today. Landed in Tokyo a few hours ago. The 14-hour flight reminded me of when I was forced to get on a plane to the U.S. alone after my dad was detained at the Beijing International Airport 12 years ago. The seat next to me was empty again…

    As a daughter who has been fighting tirelessly for the release of her detained innocent father. It is one of my biggest fear to have my father’s name Ilham Tohti forgotten by people. This would exactly be what the Chinese gov wishes for! #Freeilhamtohti #freeuyghurs #Uyghur
