I'm sorry but eth denver is about 2000 companies with too much money marketing to other companies with too much money and there are exactly zero users to be found anywhere

Music NFTs. probably nothing. That's the tweet. memes aside, let's actually talk about music + web3 and why it matters without speaking in platitudes. because music + NFTs are definitely something... 🧵 1/

Sometimes I remember that we built a music nft platform in 2017 and get sad it didn’t work but timing is everything and I’m glad the work is continuing

Nft week in NYC was a trip. Amazing people, pretty terrible parties. Very bullish on web3, less so on the current generation of NFTs. Lots of ego, lots of peacocking, lots of exclusivity. Web3 is supposed to level the playing field and not replicate the problems of web2

Web3 isn’t about building the next Facebook, Twitter or MySpace. It’s not about platforms, it’s about people with permission less tools empowered to keep innovating. If we get lost in building the next platforms, we get lost in the sauce.
We are in the MySpace era of web3. The next Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have yet to be created. Zoom out.

Dang you guys really want to hear about music NFTs huh. More threads coming soon - gonna start with projects that imo are pushing the limits and then maybe another about platforms that I like. We’re still early but the time to align is now

It’s be cool if @AndrewYang built a dao to transform politics. Get all young politically invested people in. Teach them the ways. Incentivize cooperation through tokens, raise money through tokens and other cool shit.

.@CallMeLatasha deserves success. She’s an incredible artist. An inspiration to other artists and is pushing everything forward. Honored to have won #GOGOWYNE

1/ Ten years ago, I co-founded @UjoMusic , which launched the first consumer-facing app on Ethereum in 2015. It was a proof of concept, but it taught us that the future of music could be more open, artist-centric, and creatively free.

Idk who needs to hear this, but if you travel to a conference every week or every other, you’re not building anything.

I’m at e11even and the fee on the Bitcoin ATM is $1000. This homie looks at me and goes “who cares. It’s all play money anyway”

It’s going to be time to switch to @ourZORA and the soon to be hundreds of front ends built on top for curation. Feels like a hackathon project Or we could just keep pumping the IPO a price for open sea which we will see no value for.

Maybe the future doesn’t need “decentralized” record labels. Perhaps labels are a very basic view of what possible with this technology

    Replying to @JesseGrushack
as for music NFTs? They're just getting started. The generative systems are coming. The fan clubs are heating up. The urge to collaborate for a more creative future has begun. If you don't know where to start, my DMs are open /fin
