Good for Derek Carr if he declined to grin and bear it. Whether you wanted him as QB or not, he fronted and supported an organization that has been embarrassingly inept for the better part of a quarter century. Whatever his shortcomings, he was better than the team he played on.

The way Jack Del Rio stood at the podium with dignity and dealt with losing his #Raiders hometown dream job unexpectedly was remarkable. One of classiest things I've seen. (Don't even bother with the `he's getting paid' argument -- it was still remarkable).

Three years after trading for Antonio Brown and 17 years after trading for Randy Moss, the #Raiders get this one right with Davante Adams. Just as dominant, much more stable and a better teammate.

Screw the politics. #Raiders demanding proof of vaccine to attend games in Allegiant Stadium is common sense and they are to be commended.

And to think when #Raiders went all week without their O-line the league told them, "You're going to play four hours earlier.'
Ravens-Steelers being tentatively moved from Sunday to Tuesday night, per @diannaESPN and me.

Nick Bosa on #Raiders Maxx Crosby: `I think he’s great. One of the top rushers in the league. Me and him are the best this year in my opinion.' #49ers

I'm visualizing Mike Mayock in his backyard, flapping his arms as if they're wings and saying, `I'm free! I'm free!'

That #Raiders were able to overcome the Carr-Jacobs pitch mistake, the Davis fumble and the huge Cohen punt return and still win . . . anyone watching this team for the better part of the last 15 years is amazed.

So who won the trade? Not the Raiders, who had draft picks and cap room but couldn't capitalize. Not the Bears, who lost cap room and couldn't put an offense together. The winner was Mack. He got paid.
#BreakingNews The #Bears are placing Khalil Mack on injured reserve to have season-ending foot surgery. #DaBears

Every time an NFL team introduces new uniforms, there is something comforting about the knowledge that the #Raiders will never change.

I get that signing 'old guys' isn't a great free agency plan. But I also think Johnathan Abram and Damon Arnette need Richard Sherman a lot more than Darren Waller needed Jason Witten. #Raiders

Here's to Raider fans . . . I honestly don't know how they do it. Respect to a group that gets nothing back except getting repeatedly kicked in the teeth and hangs in there anyway. Hope the same brotherhood (and sisterhood) exists in Vegas as it did in Coliseum parking lot.

Saw Clayton Kershaw's postgame media scrum -- the guy's got more integrity in his pinky finger than 99.9 percent of people crushing him on social media.

Raiders made no excuses, went out and won at Pittsburgh on a short week. Nitpick all you want, that's huge. Carr takes down Lamar Jackson, Ben Roethlisberger on consecutive weeks with help from a defense that gives up 17 points.
