I cannot emphasize enough how strong athletic programs can help turn around a campus academically. There may be other ways, but it is definitely a formula that works.

Schools that hire Athletic Directors that were never coaches is like hiring a Superintendent that never taught.

A friend with athletic kids reminded me that often his kids spend more time with coaches than they do at home. The more we pour into our coaches, the more they pour into our kids. I can’t control some external factors but I can treat our people like I KNOW what they do matters.

Today was a hard day for one of our teachers. She recently lost her husband way too early in life . She had told me that he would bring her flowers on her birthday (today) As leaders we have to find ways to seize the moments for our people that matter. Until her kids can - I’ll

My 1st Principal gig was a PEG list JH a “failing school” We used athletics to build discipline & a winning mindset. Everything was a competition, rewarding growth & success. 2 years & we were off that list with ⭐️’s & Several kids are now stars playing D1 sports. 🏀🏈🥎

Crowd culture is just as important to games as program culture. Things winning programs have: crowds with most parents cheering (not screaming at coaches or kids) cheerleaders & bands cheer & perform at the right times Want your team to be better? Help the crowd culture

Right now, there are many coaches working harder in a losing season than coaches with a winning record.

I cannot begin to explain how excited we are to be named Lone Finalist for Hutto ISD and work with a great board and team. We can’t wait to be Hippos. They have a great team in place and I can’t wait to serve them!! Thank you for all the support!!

Be the teacher you want your own kids to have. Be the AP or Principal you want your own kids to have Be the Administrator or AD that you want your own kids to have. And then, hire people that you want your own kids to have.

Being a Middle School Teacher/Coach helped me be a better HS Teacher/Coach. Being an AP helped me as a Principal. Being a MS Principal helped me be a better HS Principal, Being a COO helps me as Superintendent. Each step is an opportunity to prepare the path. Step wisely.

My exchange daughter Elisa accepted Christ while here in TX. Her favorite part of our culture is our religious spirit. Back home she didn’t know anyone that went to church. A friend in Belgium has decided to go & already found them a church when she returns. Spread the word.

So a charter school that has open enrollment wins the Texas 4 A State Championship in Basketball. The schools they defeated along the way can only have kids from their attendance zones. So very Interesting.

In Head Coaching interviews they frequently ask who would you be able to bring with you? This is a crucial question because your #2 is almost as important of a hire for admin as the HFC.

My sweet Elisa made the decision to be Baptized next week! God is so good! Praise Jesus.
