An early morning earthquake rattles Nevada this morning near the California border. It occurred 225 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

- The Winter Solstice marks the shortest daylight of the year. We will gain 5 hours and 47 minutes between today and the first day of Summer.
- The forecast high of 87 for today is 10 degrees above normal. Poor Denver will see high temperatures some 30 to 40 degrees below normal over the next couple days with snow flying. High temperatures this past weekend in Denver were close to 100 degrees!
- For those locations under a tornado watch remember it means all the ingredients are in place. Go about your evening while keeping an eye on the weather and have a plan of action if a warning is issued.
