You can’t keep a good Horwitz down. My grandson, Spencer Horwitz made it back to the bigs with the Blue Jays last night. He is the only Horwitz ever to play in the majors. Go get 'em Spence.

- Congrats to my grandson Spencer Horwitz on his promotion to the Blue Jays. A proud grandpa Jay.
- Thinking of Davey Johnson who is in a Florida hospital bed battling Covid. His leadership, determination and spirit led the @Mets to the 1986 championship. No one will battle Covid like him. We are pulling for you, Davey.
- Want to send best wishes on behalf of our entire organization to former @Mets manager Art Howe who is in a Houston hospital battling COVID-19. Never have met a nicer man.
- Daniel Murphy was touched by the gesture. A day after his retirement, the @Mets placed his photo on the Whitestone Board at @CitiField to congratulate him on his career. It was like a homecoming for him, going back to where it all started. It meant a lot to him to be remembered.
- I started with the Mets 39 years ago today. Got lost on my first day and wound up in Brooklyn. Was almost two hours late. Not good. Have the route down pat now. It’s easy once you get the hang of it.
- Ten summers ago, Wilmer Flores showed us that crying in baseball was okay. I will never forget “Five Days in Flushing”.
- It’s hard to believe that 7 years ago today we lost our beloved Shannon Forde. I was at a restaurant in St. Lucie with my friends when I got the call. It was 6:37p. She was only 44. Shannon was a trailblazer. It’s my goal to make sure people will never forget her. I know I won’t.
- Happy anniversary to me. Started with the @Mets 42 years ago today. Thousands of hot dogs and hundreds of friends. Never thought of my job as work. Wouldn’t trade a moment of it for anything. My goal is to make it to 50 years.
- Two Hall of Fames down and the big one to go. I don’t understand how @keithhernandez is not in Cooperstown. The Cardinals made him a Hall of Famer and he has been in the Mets for a while. Keith did it all with the bat and his Gold Glove. More importantly he was a leader.
- The I-Man needs our prayers. Jeff Innis is in a Houston hospital facing the biggest challenge of his life. As a Met, he never backed away from anything, always taking the ball. Jeff loves the @Mets. He was a regular at Fantasy Camp and the campers loved him. Please pray for him.
- I can’t even fathom that this January marks my 43rd year with the Mets. After my disastrous interview with then general manager Frank Cashen in March of 1980, I never thought I would last 43 days, let alone 43 years. Somehow, I have survived.
