    Crazy story. I get called for a STEMI but as I exit my neighborhood the exit is blocked by police due to a vehicle fatality. I explain that I'm on my way to an emergency but they said my medical emergency does not "trump" theirs, even though no one was alive. (1/3)

    After 2 miles. Uber/Lyft no cars available. By some miracle I'm able to find a chill Uber driver who made it to the hospital in 20 min. Overall delayed 60 min. Difficult case with thrombectomy/Impella. I documented it all in the medical record. Anyone else had a crazy delay? 3/3

    Only way off the island is nautical or taking an exit in the opposite direction that would add 2 hours to my 22 minute trip. I ask the officer if I can run through the scene. He agrees so I abandon my car and run 2 miles. Both of my backup ICs are delayed with the holiday. (2/3)

    52 year old presented with 5 days of severe pain in the right foot and Rutherford IIA ALI. WBC over 50K, hgb 5 mg/dL, and platelets < 30K. Stumped off pop.

    Just did a VF arrest yesterday AM- EF<25% and now cooling. Clean cors. Same thing... young with COVID myocarditis. Crossposted on FB and I have people arguing with me on whether or not young people need vaccination! I can't even understand the logic!

    On call this weekend and it's déjà vu with all the COVID consults. Lots of young people who are really sick. 100% unvaccinated so far. 😔
