LIU's gym has it all: A slight chlorine smell. Ever-growing crowds. A life-sized plastic shark. A mini dachshund. And the most viral (non)student section in sports. Welcome to the Reef, where a Cinderella hopeful has traded its tiara for a foam shark fin

This was genuinely one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my 24 years of pursuing funny stories in sports

Notre Dame defensive back @BMoe_21 has "MICKEY" on his wrist tape today. Fellow cornerback Jaden Mickey's mother, Nilka, sadly passed away earlier this morning after a battle with cancer.

I don’t think people realize how insane A). Notre Dame adjusting their schedule for anything short of a papal or federal holiday is and B). How much of a madhouse the dorms are going to be for a no-exam-or-classes Friday leading into winter break (and a potential playoff game).
Per an email sent to students, Notre Dame has adjusted its final exam schedule with the 12-team College Football Playoff in mind. Exams, which would ordinarily end Friday, Dec. 20, will now end Thursday, Dec. 19. CFP first-round games will be played Dec. 20-21. h/t @FFFIHockey

Fantastic result tonight but we need to talk about this. First and foremost, what he said is not even remotely close to true. Secondly, in front of a national audience, including many new US soccer fans, he fanned the mysognistic flames that already exist in USM/WNT spaces.
Charlie Davies says that due to the equity regulations within US Soccer, the men’s team couldn’t hire someone like Pep Guardiola if they had the chance because they would have to pay the women’s coach a similar amount. He essentially said that limits their options.

Shoutout to Tosh Baker, man. There’s answering the bell. And then there’s answering the bell after being a backup for five years, including being beat out this very summer by a true freshman for an opportunity you had waited your whole career for.

Kenny Dillingham with maybe the greatest sign off to a postgame interview I’ve ever seen, yelling “I was one of them” before jumping into a mosh pit of students after pulling off your first statement win as the head coach of your alma mater is legendary stuff

Since my page is getting some traffic today I would like to to remind everyone part of the reason Notre Dame’s mascot is the Fighting Irish is some of the schools early students, led by one of the Four Horsemen no less, bullied the KKK out of South Bend. Which rocks, so much.
100 years ago today, the Ku Klux Klan wanted to showcase its power and cement its sudden grip on Indiana politics by holding a picnic and parade in South Bend, the most Catholic area in the state. #NotreDame students didn't let that happen: go.nd.edu/ClashOverCatho…
A cartoon depiction of Notre Dame students in 1924 confronting Klansmen, with one student waving an American flag and another holding a torn Klan hood.

Notre Dame hockey has their players intro’d with their dorm and it’s unironically pretty cool

Lost in the Berhalter discourse is the fact that this group will clearly go to war for him. Stuff like that matters in big games like this, and came up huge when this team had their backs to the wall twice, and responded twice.
