I really, really don’t care what you think. I went to a PWI. I watched white students at the University of Maryland set fire and go on a rampage every time they beat Duke in BASKETBALL. No pain. No anger. And they were NEVER called thugs. EVER.

People are conflating Critical Race Theory with History. Y’all really protesting the teaching of HISTORY in schools. And just because that history makes some uncomfortable, that doesn’t make it any less true.

If you call us thugs, you don’t have to call us children. If you call us thugs, you don’t have to call us angry. If you call us thugs, you don’t have to call us heartbroken. If you call us thugs, you don’t have to call us human. You also don’t have to call yourselves complicit.

Just held the door for an older lady, and when she crossed the threshold, she turned to me and said, “I hope you have a wonderful sex life.” Such a kind thing to say.

If you didn't start hearing fireworks three days ago, your neighborhood has been gentrified.

One day I’ll tell the story of when Kobe called me on my cell. He wanted me to know Gianna loved “Ghost.” Man.

I was there, and I always cite this as the biggest moment in my career. To watch my mother watch John Lewis win. I remember finding @NicolaYoon afterward and joking about how none of us could be mad about losing to him. I’ll never forget it.
WATCH: John Lewis tearfully accepting National Book Award. He couldn't get a library card in 1956 because the library was "for whites only".

The fact that Elmo has a father named, Louie, who wears bowling shirts, has made my day.
“Not all streets are like Sesame Street. … What we are seeing is people saying 'enough is enough.' They want to end racism.” @elmo’s dad Louie explains why people are protesting across the US. cnn.com/sesamestreet #CNNSesameStreet

One time I sat in a room with Tracy Martin (Trayvon’s father) and he was asked if he forgave George Zimmerman. His response was, “No.” Then, after a beat, he added, “God says to forgive. But he doesn’t say when. So it won’t be in this lifetime.” #BothamJean

At the beginning of this decade, I had one book out and was selling clothes. Here, at the end of it, there are twelve other books and I no longer work retail (which I loved, btw). I’ve changed the trajectory of my whole family. And I’m still me.
