- I had to read this sentence twice. Just pure evil.Israeli forces allowed aid into northern Gaza for the first time in over a month – and then set fire to the shelters where the aid was delivered.
00:00 - Just a reminder that the West destroyed Iran’s progressive democracy in 1953, deposing a leader beloved of the people, and installed a dictatorship in his place. The US and UK have been terrorising that country for as long as any of us have been alive. It’s sick.
- Elon Musk saying the Nazis were communist is clear proof that he is in fact *not* a genius. It is a breathtakingly ignorant claim. The Nazis were feverishly anti-communist, and massacred some one million socialists and communists for their political views.
- Israel just committed *the largest child massacre in its history*, according to Haaretz. Two hundred Palestinian children murdered in a single day, with direct support from the US and UK, and zero outrage from Western media. What stage of barbarism is this...
- People often assume that capitalism is defined by "markets and trade". But markets and trade existed for thousands of years before capitalism. Capitalism is only 500 years old. So what is distinctive about this economic system? Three things (well, more, but three for now):
- In his UN speech Netanyahu claimed there are rockets in every civilian home in Lebanon, effectively arguing all homes are a military target. This is 100% genocidal and this maniac must be stopped.
- Environmentalism without class struggle is using paper straws while the rich take 9 minute flights in their private jets.
- The problem is not simply that capitalism produces too much, but that it produces the wrong stuff: SUVs, fast fashion and planned obsolescence instead of public transit, affordable housing and universal healthcare. It overuses resources and still fails to meet even basic needs.
- The World Bank is upset that Bhutan's old-growth forests are just standing there, doing nothing, when they could be turned into Ikea furniture.71% of #Bhutan's territory is covered in forest, but with a contribution of only about 2% to GDP per year, the forest sector remains underutilized.
