I am incredibly grateful to the people of Croydon for placing their trust in me once again. Four years ago, I was elected to help rescue a borough that had been broken by bankruptcy, instability and failure. Together, we have stabilised the Council, restored discipline and begun

[1/4] I am very concerned that Sadiq Khan has been caught making false and dishonest statements to the London Assembly. He claimed that he was not briefed on the #ULEZ Consultation results, but documents reveal that this was not true. #TheULEZScandal

I would like to thank every single Croydonian who put their trust in me at this election. I am so proud to have been elected Mayor of this great Borough. There is hope for Croydon, and I am excited to get to work to deliver the change that residents have so clearly asked for.

Today, I took action to deliver on key commitments. I’ve announced that I will be restoring the Graffiti Removal Team as an immediate priority. And I’ve started the process of removing Labour’s Planning Design Guide - unpopular with so many residents across #Croydon.

I have received numerous reports of TfL’s ULEZ Enforcement Vehicles parked improperly or illegally. These reports have been passed onto TfL and Capita. You can report illegally parked vehicles (including ULEZ Enforcement Vans) using the LoveCleanStreets App.

When I became Mayor in May, I ordered the Council to begin an “opening the books” exercise. The scale of Croydon Labour’s toxic financial mistakes has forced Croydon Council to issue a new S114 Notice. Watch this update from Cllr Jason Cummings, Cabinet Member for Finance 👇

I’m pleased to announce that Croydon Council are bidding for over £19m of Levelling Up Funding, a much-needed investment that would begin the regeneration of our town centre, ensuring Croydon is a place where people want to live, work and visit.

The Labour Government has announced that the Minister is “minded” to send commissioners into Croydon. Unelected Labour commissioners could override democratic decisions - forcing tax hikes and cuts on a scale unlike that which we have seen. Here's why this is the wrong choice:

On my first day as Mayor, it was great to meet with @CroydonCitizens. The work you do for your communities is so valuable. Thank you for organising the Mayoral Assembly event during the campaign, and thank you also for the beautiful flowers you gave me today.

It was a pleasure to attend the Councillor Induction today, to welcome the new Councillor cohort and wish them well over the next four years. With the Council in No Overall Control, I will make sure that I listen to voices from all parties and parts of #Croydon.

I remain in communication with the Police, who currently have no intelligence suggesting riots, disorder or extremist gatherings are set to take place in Croydon today. However, we will continue to remain vigilant. Together, we are stronger. Please share this. 👇

I want to thank every Croydonian who took part in today’s election - however you voted. I’m proud of the campaign we fought, and the fantastic team of Council Candidates that stood with me under the Local Conservative banner.
