I am disgusted and saddened to learn that two men have sexually assaulted a young Sikh woman in Oldbury. Early reports are saying that the men told the woman to 'go back to your country'. This is a vile, racist, misogynist attack that should be treated with the utmost

Today our community came together in our grief to walk with Zara Aleena's family and finish Zara's walk home. There are no words.

Since August there have been reports of more than 2,000 violent incidents in Bangladesh, mostly targeting the Hindu community.   We must always stand firmly against anti-Hindu violence & support freedom of religion for all in Bangladesh.

During World War 2, nearly a third of the British army were from the Indian subcontinent. They made up the largest volunteer army ever in history. But we still rarely remember these Sikhs, Muslims & Hindus. This VE Day we must remain firm in our pursuit of the truth. #VEDay80

I have been lucky to know @SadiqKhan for over a decade. He is a man of integrity, dignity, and principle. Sadiq has dedicated his life to making London a better place and because of him, London is the greatest city in the world. The remarks made by Donald Trump are baseless

Born in Punjab, my parents came to England in 1965 for a better life & we found it in Ilford. Blessed with an amazing family, born, raised & educated here in Ilford. Embracing the country that has given me everything. Proud to be English, Happy St Georges day. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #StGeorgesDay

I cannot even begin to say how proud I am of our Redbridge team. This week two of our waste collection crew Nick and Mark saved 3 children from a house fire in Ilford & then just carried on work as though nothing had happened. Nick & Mark are heroes.

I'm relieved this ordeal is over but words can't describe the hell me and family have been through at the hands of the Labour Party over this past year. Justice must be done: jasathwal.com/#petition

50 years today since I arrived in England for a better life. My father worked all the hours he was awake and my mum sewed my clothes, no money to buy them. We worked hard and thankfully, hard work paid off. Life was tough but we were tougher. Thats me the baby of the family.

Jagtar Singh Johal is a British national who has been detained in India for over 7 years. This week Jagtar was finally acquitted in the first case brought to court after nearly a decade incarcerated. We must continue to fight for his release & bring Jagtar home. #FreeJaggiNow
