On 14 May, IOM Head of Pemba Suboffice met with Cabo Delgado’s Secretary of State to strengthen coordination and align on progress of the Japan-funded project to improve security and migration management through police posts, community safety councils & border post in Negomano.
The handover marks a major step forward for secure and efficient border management in #Madagascar. With @IOM_Madagascar, we’re supporting national efforts to strengthen border governance & improve operational efficiency by extending digital systems to maritime entry points.IOM Madagascar has handed over mobile MIDAS kits to the Ministry of Public Security extending digital border management to Madagascar's maritime border for the first time, with the port of Mahajanga as the first beneficiary. 🇯🇵🤝🇲🇬 #CreatingSmartBorders #IOM #MIDAS #Japan

After Cyclone Ditwah, rebuilding homes became the next challenge for displaced communities 🏘️ With support from CERF and the Government of Japan 🇯🇵, IOM assisted 4,000+ households across seven districts with shelter repair toolkits and cash assistance to rebuild resilient homes.

Japan supported @ilo ’s E-Waste for Youth Employment. It sought to create jobs & entrepreneurship, strengthen E-waste policy frameworks, protect the environment. @JapanAmbinSA attended the ceremony to hand over the project to local ownership. - Our #WHA79 side event with #JPMA welcomed ministerial speakers from Jamaica, Ghana, Fiji & Vietnam sharing country experiences on strengthening health systems through prevention and early detection.
