This morning, American citizen Tigran Gambaryan was released by Nigeria on humanitarian grounds and is now on his way back to the US to receive needed medical attention. We are grateful to our Nigerian partners and look forward to further strengthening our bilateral relationship.

The U.S. welcomes the opening of the Adré border crossing for life-saving aid and will continue to work with the parties to secure more humanitarian aid access. People are starving in Sudan - we will continue to work to end this terrible conflict.
