    Dennis Schroder went to EuroBasket last summer without an NBA contract. He played his way into a return with the Lakers, helped Los Angeles make the WCF, then just got named MVP of the World Cup after leading Germany to the gold medal with Franz Wagner. Quite a story.

    Dallas had contacted several teams this week, looking to reroute additional salary for a potential three-team deal, sources said. A bunch of teams knew inklings about the Mavericks being close on a trade. Nobody knew it was trading Luka Doncic.

    Had heard Indiana was interested in Grant Williams, as the Pacers have been connected to a lot of forwards. For Boston to land Malcolm Brogdon without sacrificing Williams is a big win for the Celtics.

    Sounds like Danilo Gallinari will be deciding between Chicago and Boston for his next team. The Bulls have much of the full MLE to offer, roughly $8M AAV and a hair more than the Celtics. But Boston appears to be Gallo's preferred landing spot.

    Gary Payton II has drawn a strong offer from the Trail Blazers among other suitors, sources said. I’m told Portland has the richest contract, roughly $8M, out to the versatile defender, but still mutual interest in Payton’s return to Golden State. Bruce Brown another POR target.

    While Memphis has most seriously continued dialogue with Utah and Detroit on Mike Conley trade packages, the Raptors called Memphis offering Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas for Conley and Marc Gasol, per league sources. Lowry is aware of Toronto’s general trade discussions.
