Graphical equations appearing in my book inspired the “snake equations” on the chalkboard at Snake MIT in Rick and Morty, Season 4: Episode 5, "Rattlestar Ricklactica”.
This is very good news. Big congratulations to @PeterShor1@DavidDeutschOxf@chdbennett GB — @aekert also independently laid the foundations for quantum cryptography, starting with one of the most elegantly written papers in the history of quantum information.
Long before quantum computers, there were thinkers with the imagination to lay the conceptual foundation. Quantum pioneers Charles Bennett, Gilles Brassard, David Deutsch, Peter Shor win the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.

I spent my career believing that error correction was not possible inside my lifespan. Now I think it’s possible within the decade. I guess that’s my “computers will weight less than a ton” moment.
Yuri Manin passed away yesterday, 7 January 2023.
In a most primative form, quantum computing was discussed first by Manin in his book, Computable and Uncomputable (1980).

Second doctorate: "On the Theory of Modern Quantum Algorithms"
The dissertation focuses on variational computation and ground state computation.
It should be readable by graduate students.
