I don’t want nuclear submarines. I want water bombers for bushfires.

Well friends as the only person I’ve known still actively avoiding disease, my time has come. Got boosted 12 days ago & masked in airport, Ubers, PT, in all crowds. Almost exclusively I was the sole masker, the only person trying. This is the result of doing public health alone.

The view from Gladstone’s waterfront right now, 12pm Monday. My mum’s at lunch and text me this from the cafe. This is the gas industry. I’d like people to remember this photo the next time you see a complaint that wind turbines or solar farms may be unpleasant to look at.

Everybody hates the protest in front of them but loves everything protest has won for them.

My favourite thing about @Qantas cancelling our flights last month is that after they processed a “full refund” in line with their written policies, they only returned $10 of a $1500 booking and now I get to spend more time making complaints and reporting them. 🤌🏻

I’ve been talking about how every single “COVID zero” person has caught it for the first time in the past few weeks. Today, it was my mum. Based on incubation timelines I reckon it’ll be only hours til I show symptoms and test positive myself too. This is all such bullshit.

Whenever I tweet about masks I lose followers. I have a neurological disability caused by a viral infection I caught at 17. So never going to be cool with ableism. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We wear masks & protect kids. We mask until indoors are properly ventilated, at a minimum. #MasksWork

A COVID cautious friend got into a long-awaited specialist this week. They told her catching COVID is “good for the system” and called vaccinated people “sheep”. She doesn’t want to start over on a new waitlist so please admire my strength in not dragging him to filth on here…

A lifelong family friend who’d been managing his cancer died of COVID last night. This disease is horrific. The world just doesn’t feel big enough to hold all of this grief. We need an immediate ceasefire and a rapid return to COVID precautions.

I still think about the ER doctor who told me my unexplained chest pain could be a connective tissue disorder. Only doctor not to accuse me “hiding an anxiety disorder”. Turns out it was dysautonomia. Seeing a specialist about connective tissue disorders next month.

Regional Queenslanders are not being fairly represented in the media. The majority want more ambitious climate policy. Stop platforming the minority who misunderstand the economic opportunity in climate solutions. We can’t afford to be left out of this global energy transition.

Another day, and the health advice is still to wear a mask indoors as COVID is proven to cause brain damage and increase the risk of strokes + cardiac events in the year following infection. Even in healthy vaccinated people with “mild” cases. #covidisnotover #covidisairborne

2 more friends who’d never had COVID are now sick with their first infection. 1 contracted it in hospital and is worried for their baby. Really grieving for everyone that’s been diligently doing everything right for 4 years but is constantly at risk from the people around them.
