- Lafayette Jefferson assistant coach Ed Tilley had a heart attack on the sidelines just prior to Friday's game at Michigan City. Bronchos coach Pat Shanley credits team athletic trainer Jeff Clevenger for saving Tilley's life by giving him chest compressions. (1/2)

- Bob James has been named LaPorte football coach by a vote of 6-1.
- Chesterton's Marc Urban was named the Bob King Indiana Basketball Coaches Association District 1 Coach of the Year. Trojans were 23-3 this season and won the Duneland Conference. Urban earned the same award on the girls side at Lake Central in 2015.
