- Replying to @JOCOSHERIFFUpdate as of March 11, 2026, at 5:30 a.m. U.S. 56 Highway from 1st Street to W. 8th Street in Edgerton has reopened.
- Replying to @JOCOSHERIFFBarricades and detour signs are in place to direct traffic. The driver had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Please give crews time to work and clear the area. We will provide an update once the road is reopened.
- ⚠️ ROAD CLOSURE ⚠️ U.S. 56 Highway is closed from 1st Street to W. 8th Street in Edgerton after a pickup truck crashed into a power pole. Evergy and the City of Edgerton Public Works are on scene assessing the damage and working to replace the pole safely.
- Replying to @JOCOSHERIFF***UPDATE Dec. 13, 2025, 4:57 P.M.*** The deceased in this case has been identified as Jonathan Lunceford, age 55, of Blue Springs, MO. Please read the media release for more information about this incident.
- The Johnson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing which ultimately ended in an officer involved shooting. One person is deceased.
- The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has a large presence in the area of the Panasonic plant near 103rd and Astra Pkwy. The situation is contained and there is no active threat to the public. There will be a law enforcement presence in the area for an extended time.

- JCSO deputies and Med-Act responded to a medical incident Sept. 3 on EB K-10 at Kill Creek Rd. Two children and one adult were inside the vehicle. One child died, the other was taken to the hospital. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
