    I am Emmett Till’s cousin, I am running for US Congress in Oklahoma, and you will not hear me say I deserve this seat because of that relation. However, with today’s manufactured attacks on CRT I am painfully and continuously reminded that this is an attempt to erase our history

    Emmett was kidnapped at 14 years old, tortured, castrated, shot, and had his body thrown into a River tied to a metal fan so that his body wouldn’t be recovered Tory is “maybe” going to go to jail for a few years after losing a case within the Justice system. That’s not lynching

    Today in a small coffee shop in Oklahoma I was surprised to find out I would be having a one on one conversation with @Chas10Buttigieg. The conversation was filled with warmth, vulnerability, understanding, and empathy! This time and space truly emphasized who @PeteButtigieg is.

    Mamie Till wanted the world to know about Emmett, so I will always talk about Emmett. To deny my familys history is to deny American history. Tell the truth and shame the devil! That should be the American History education perspective. Even when that devil is your grandparents

    Actually first cousins, twice removed because his father and my great grandfather were brothers. It’s wild that people say such crazy things and then double down on it. Still believing Tory is innocent is it’s own thing, but comparing him to Emmett is just ridiculous. Be better

    I’ve been shot, my siblings have been shot, my sister is dead because of gun violence. If you think trolling me will somehow convince me to stop advocating against gun violence then you’re a special kind of stupid. We’re going to fix this issue in our country, full stop.

    Please quit telling people not to watch the @TillMovie. This movie was meticulously made to not re-traumatized black people. It was made to actually introduce you to Emmett and Mamie. He’s much more than just a victim, and she’s much more than just his mother.
