- Today's good news story. Actor Hugh Grant is fast becoming a popular favourite to replace Boris Johnson as UK Prime Minister.
- Point of detail. Under international refugee law it is NOT illegal to arrive in the UK on a small boat if the the purpose of the journey is to claim asylum.If you come here illegally on a small boat, you will face return. My government is fixing the broken asylum system we inherited.
- Fun fact. Nico Williams, the standout star of the Euros, is the son on Ghanaian parents who crossed the Sahara and climbed over the fence into the Spanish enclave of Melilla.
- This is what politicians and the media are calling "Britain's migrant crisis."

- It will be VERY interesting to see whether the Ukraine emergency has any impact on the passage of the UK's dreadful new Borders Bill, which seeks to eliminate the right to claim asylum in the country & which has been roundly condemned by UNHCR:
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights. "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution."
