Glad to see @WSJ turn a critical eye on Buffalo's Tesla factory, a facility built with $959M in taxpayer money that hasn't fulfilled its promises. I and other local reporters wrote this story months ago, of course, but the nat'l attention is nice.

New: The Trump administration appears to have reinstated a practice, if not policy, of separating migrant families. NYT recently identified 9 such cases. Here, I detail how the ICE detention of a mother & father separated them from their 2 year old:

now, you may be tempted to think that a northern city like Buffalo, New York — no stranger to long, harsh winters — would have such things as “plowing the streets” and “icing the sidewalks” figured out & well organized. unfortunately, if you think that, you would be wrong.

Well folks, NYT has called it. State Senator Sean Ryan has been declared the winner of the Buffalo mayoral primary over Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon. Ryan has been a state lawmaker since 2011. Scanlon was appointed to office in Oct. after Byron Brown left to run OTB.

Accused of "passively resisting arrest," a gang of Buffalo police pinned down Andy Ocasio & beat him senseless. Why the charge? He was filming the arrest of a friend, as many civilians do daily. He now suffers "trauma induced glaucoma" due to the blows.

Regarding reports of ICE in Hamburg: ICE agents today pulled over a Native American man around 7:45 AM and demanded to see his ID & later passport. After determining he was an American citizen, he was free to go. No reason given for the stop. Man said he suspects racial profiling
