    Including former GM Dave Gettleman, seven scouting staffers who entered the '21 season w/the #Giants are now gone. That's a lot of turnover when you consider that #NFL teams have an average of 20 scouts/executives.

    Expecting an announcement soon re: #Bucs area scout Tony Kinkela heading north for a more senior role w/#Patriots. Kinkela spent 13 yrs in TB & helped team win the Best Draft Award for their work in ’20 (Wirfs, Winfield, etc.). Has worked for @WSUCougarFB & @GreenWaveFB.

    A new GM means changes, and the #Giants are moving on from Dir of College Scouting Chris Pettit & Sr. Personnel Executive Kyle O'Brien. Pettit had been w/team since '05, helping win 2 Super Bowls, while O'Brien, who has served w/#Jaguars, #Patriots, #Lions, arrived last spring.

    Mike Derice, who has spent a decade as an area scout w/the #Colts, is the latest addition to the #Giants scouting dept. His expected role is national scout. Derice played, graduated from, and served as DFO for @StonyBrookFB & has worked w/the @WeAreAFCA convention.

    AJ Highsmith, formerly a #Bills national scout, is the #Titans new Director of Scouting & will have college & pro duties in his new role. The son of #Patriots exec Alonzo Highsmith, AJ interviewed w/multiple teams this cycle. Also spent 5 yrs w/#49ers & played for @CanesFootball.

    A story I heard today is emblematic of ’23 draft offseason: -Player commits to agency -Agency hears 7/UDFA grades, tells kid to go back -Agency lands $350K NIL deal at P5 school -Goes from 50-50 to make NFL roster to staying in school, still making 1/2 what he woulda made in NFL

    #Vikings area scout Kevin McCabe passed away Saturday after a long battle with leukemia. A Princeton grad, McCabe was a fixture on the West Coast, covering the area for more than 2 decades for Minn. He also led the RB group @ the Combine. Our thoughts and prayers are w/his family

    #Bears area scout Scott Hamel is headed to the #Giants as the newest member of new GM Joe Schoen's staff. Hamel joined Chicago in 2015 as a combine scout after 4+ yrs with @NUFBFamily. Exact role TBA.
