Hear me out. Mavs sign Seth Curry, Jason Thompson, & Gerald Green. Then roll out a lineup of Curry, Thompson, Green, Barnes, & Bogut.

If Haliburton did indeed tear his Achilles, that would be the 8th Achilles tear of the season. The previous high was 5 (14-15). The total doesn't include Thanasis Antetokounmpo who tore his in the offseason or prospect Jalon Moore who was injured in a recent pre-draft workout.

DMX was such an aesthetic artist. His unique sound was undeniable and the visualization from the cover of Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood is ingrained in my mind. Rest easy.

LaMarcus Aldridge retires after issues with an irregular heartbeat. Aldridge has previously been diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome and undergone multiple ablation procedures since the 2006-07 season. Best wishes to Aldridge in his life after basketball.

Re: Giannis: He clearly hyperextended the left knee but multiple structures can be injured with this mechanism. It is worth noting he previously sprained the joint capsule in this same knee in March of 2020. Hoping he somehow avoided significant injury.

Re: Luka: There’s a lot of variability in calf strains. The calf is actually a muscle complex made up of multiple muscles. Severity & location will factor into resulting recovery. Average time lost for calf strains in the NBA this season was 16 days (median 17, minimum = 3 days)

Re: Anthony Davis: The adductor muscles are more commonly known as the groin. A multi-week absence suggests a more moderate strain. Worth noting AD has a history of low-grade left adductor strains dating back to his time in New Orleans. He has also been nursing an abdominal

Carmelo Anthony's durability remains one of his most overlooked traits. Melo finishes his career with over 100 recorded injuries or illnesses, including multiple surgeries on his L knee, elbow surgery, a broken hand, bilateral shoulder labrum tears, & at least 15 ankle sprains.

If the Bucks win tonight and we don’t get a Brook Lopez “I’m going to Disney World” then what are we even doing…

Michael Jordan was one of the first players added to my injury database. It didn’t long. During his time w/ Chicago, MJ missed 69 total games to injury. 64 of those were due to the navicular fracture during the 85-86 season, meaning he missed 5 games (!) in the 12 other seasons.

Prayers up for Thunder guard Nikola Topic following his testicular cancer diagnosis. Former NBA big man Nene also battled testicular cancer and underwent chemotherapy during his NBA career, missing 76 days during the 2007-08 season. Nene played 11 more seasons after his return.

Despite this laundry list of injuries, he missed just 141 games due to injury over his 19 seasons in the NBA (~7.4 games lost per season played). He’s finishes his career 23rd all-time in regular season minutes played and 28th all-time in total minutes played. #STAYME7O

Re: Porzingis: KP suffered the same injury that is currently keeping Giannis sidelined. As I mentioned then, the soleus is a part of the calf muscle complex. The average time lost for strains specified as a soleus injury is ~17 days (6 games). Read more here:
