- My thanks to Prime Minister @BorisJohnson for his support and reassurances during our discussion this evening. We will continue to work closely with the UK Government in order to resolve the current challenges diplomatically and avoid any unnecessary escalation
- We are extremely disappointed at today’s announcement from the French Government. The retaliatory measures outlined are disproportionate.

- There is no reason to extend parts of the UK Fisheries Bill to Jersey. The inclusion of a Permissive Extent Clause is unwanted and completely unnecessary. Jersey remains in full control of its fisheries legislation and territorial waters.
00:00 - Suggestions that Jersey should elect an MP to the UK House of Commons are usually made by friends of the island who have our interests at heart and want our voice to be heard in Westminster. It would, though, wholly undermine our constitutional status and reduce our autonomy. 1/2

- Replying to @Ian_GorstJersey has never been part of the UK and for that reason we have never had an MP in Westminster. We are a separate jurisdiction, loyal to the Crown, and not a UK constituency. I want to protect, enhance and promote our distinct identity, and could never support this proposal. 2/2
