.@IPPN_Education fully supports the calls by @INTOnews for urgent clarification by the Minister for @IPPN_Education re. vaccination of school staff, all of whom are "working in overcrowded settings". This is in line with IPPN's submission to DE re. the safe reopening of schools.

IPPN wishes Dr Harold Hislop the very best in his retirement from the role of Chief Inspector. He leaves a tremendous legacy of positive change and thought leadership.

Our Teaching Principals comprise of 56% of school leaders. The very least Teaching Principals need is one day a week to focus on leadership and management! At every meeting we have with the DES and our educational partners, we continually raise this issue - David Ruddy #IPPN19
IPPN welcomes the DE's decision to reintroduce the banked hours facility which we have been campaigning for since its removal in Oct.
This will better ensure that children with additional needs are not further disadvantaged by a lack of substitute teachers.
